168 HP Dry-Pit Submersibles — Norwood, PA
Customer required modernization of multiple antiquated shaft-driven pumps due to numerous occurrences of corrective maintenance, inefficient operations, and noisy work environment. Major design constraints include reliably precise and continuous flows to the regional treatment plant to avoid overloading.
Reiner Pump Systems worked closely with the Regional Authority’s engineers to ensure the proper implementation of critical pumps at this terminal pump station. With the design constraints carefully considered, Sulzer ABS dry-pit submersible pumps were installed with proper flow and head requirements as well as sufficient solids handling capability for the application. Integrated pump monitoring was used to communicate seamlessly with the existing SCADA system. This resulted in a reliable pump station that provides designed flows to the treatment plant while saving the authority in energy costs.
“Installing Sulzer ABS pumps at this critical station has put my mind at ease. Reiner Pump Systems’ team was knowledgeable and effective during our multi-stage start-up, aiding in all steps of the process. Best of all, the pumps are so quiet, I had to check to see if they were running.”
